Computer-aided design
Create parts and prototypes while building spatial reasoning and practical design skills.
DESIGN. TEST. TRY AGAIN.
CAD, 3D printing & robotics
Ages 12–high schoolBring your next idea off the screen.
Think like a designer and build like a maker. Students use tools such as SolidWorks and OrcaSlicer to explore computer-aided design, 3D printing, materials, robotics, and the satisfying process of turning a first idea into a working solution.

SKILLS THAT BUILD ON EACH OTHER
Create parts and prototypes while building spatial reasoning and practical design skills.
Prepare models, explore materials, and learn from what happens when a design becomes a physical object.
Bring parts and mechanized functions together, test an idea, and improve the next version.

FROM IDEA TO SOMETHING REAL
From small printed boats to machine parts and robotic assemblies, the lab makes room for experimentation. Students learn that a useful question often starts with “What if?”
Equipment is used as part of instruction. Participation does not include a personal equipment allowance or take-home technology benefit.
READY FOR A GOOD DAY
Wear natural-fiber clothing, long pants, and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Tie back long hair and avoid loose jewelry and synthetic athleticwear. Bring a labeled water bottle, a snack, and lunch for a full-day class.
Instructors provide course-specific directions for equipment, protective gear, and participation. Contact the office about access needs or accommodations.
